(VOVworld) – Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Friday sent a diplomatic note on the East Sea tension to the Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia.

The note said as the country was to initiate the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), Cambodia attached importance to maintaining peace and security in the East Sea. Cambodia supported related parties in terms fully complying with the DOC in political and legislative means to peacefully resolve the dispute in the East Sea. Cambodia expressed its hope that the related parties would exert tireless effort to keep to the Code of Conduct in the East Sea to assure peace and security in the region. On the same day, Cambodia’s Council of Ministers sent a diplomatic note to reply to the official dispatch from the Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia regarding this issue.
