Trudeau on Wednesday denied reports that he and senior ministers were involved in negotiating with the Abu Sayyaf terror group. Trudeau added during a phone call with British Prime Minister David Cameron, they shared an uncompromising stance against paying ransom to terrorists.
Trudeau’s statement followed comments by Bob Rae, the former interim Liberal Party leader, who said that Trudeau and other Canadian officials were assessing how to deal with the crisis and had to make very difficult decisions.
