Canadian investigators invited to probe downed Ukranian jet
(VOVWORLD) - Canadian investigators who arrived in Tehran Monday were allowed to get access to the black boxes, bodies and debris of a Ukrainian International Airlines passenger jet accidentally shot down by Iran's Revolutionary Guard last week.
Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) chair Kathy Fox said these are encouraging signs in terms of the level of access Iran plans to afford the Canadian investigators. The Canada-based International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has accepted an invitation from the Iranian government and will send technical staff to advise on and observe the investigation.
