(VOVworld) – A memorial ceremony was held Monday in the area of Colin – Lansdowne – Johnson Reefs on Truong Sa Island, Khanh Hoa province, where 64 soldiers of the Vietnam’s People's Navy fought and died heroically 27 years ago defending the national territorial waters. Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan said:“We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation and promise to follow their shining example. We will do our utmost for national construction and defense, especially the national sovereignty of sea and islands.”
