Kate is the Brahmin Cham’s biggest festival of the year to commemorate the gods and kings with great merits, remember their ancestors, and pray for peace, favorable weather, and bountiful crops. This year, Kate Festival takes place in three days from October 23-25.

Ninh Thuan has more than 53,700 Brahmin Cham people, who live mainly in the districts of Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Nam, Thuan Bac, and Ninh Hai and Phan Rang-Thap Cham city.

On the Kate Festival, the provincial authorities organize visits to dignitaries, policy families, and prestigious people, wishing the Cham community a joyful, peaceful and happy Kate season.

In 2017 "Kate Festival of Cham people in Ninh Thuan province" was officially recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
