China prioritizes comprehensive relations with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - China has always prioritized its relations with Vietnam in its neighborhood diplomacy and stands ready to work with Vietnam to maintain the momentum of sound, steady, all-round development of bilateral relations, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian.

China will work with Vietnam to advance the ASEAN-centered regional cooperation architecture, speed up synergy and cooperation between the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the "Two Corridors, One Economic Circle" strategy, push ratification and implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, and step up consultations on a Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (known as the East Sea in Vietnam) to maintain peace and stability there.

During the past five days, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been visiting Vietnam and Cambodia, the first two destinations of his Asia tour. His next stops will be Singapore and the Republic of Korea.
