China, Russia agree to cooperate in developing Far East region

(VOVworld) - Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev have agreed that China and Russia will enhance cooperation in developing Russia's Far East zone.

During a meeting in Beijing on Thursday, Wang said China is willing to actively participate in building the Far East zone and expand its mutually beneficial cooperation with the region to boost socio-economic development in border areas. The China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has entered a new stage, Wang added, calling on both countries to implement the agreements reached between their leaders to achieve more fruitful cooperation.

Trutnev, who is also Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, introduced the development plan for the Far East zone and welcomed China's participation in the process.
