(VOVworld) - China and the US are now in close communication on arrangements for a meeting between the two presidents and exchanges at other levels, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during talks with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Saturday.

Wang told Tillerson that China attaches great importance to his visit, while Tillerson expressed his pleasure to continue discussions with China. The two sides exchanged views on North Korea, relationships with Taipei, and bilateral trade. Minister Wang emphasized the need for a commitment to diplomatic measures to resolve the North Korea issue peacefully. Tillerson said China and the US will cooperate to convince North Korea to abandon its nuclear and missile programs.
