China-ASEAN Expo brings Vietnamese firms opportunities

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese products have set their foothold in China’s market thanks to the China-ASEAN Expo over the past 10 years. This year’s event has concluded in Nanning, Guangxi, China.

Biti’s footwear, which has joined the Expo from its very first time, is an example of Vietnam’s successful trademarks in China, particularly in Guangxi. Le Vinh Khiet, Biti’s Deputy Director General, shared the secret of success: "We got to know more about the demand and taste of local people every time we participated in the Expo to promote new products each year. We have comprehensively studied the use of footwear in China. Chinese people walk more than Vietnamese do so we pay special attention to their feet and the softness of shoes. When products meet consumers’ demand, their origin will no longer be a concern."

Another Vietnam’s brand name, Trung Nguyen coffee, has gained initial success in China whose citizens have a thousand-year tradition of drinking tea. Nguyen Van Dong, assistant to the director’s board of Trung Nguyen coffee, said they are now running 10 distribution systems across China.

Dong told VOV: "Coffee is Vietnam’s strength. Chinese people, especially youngsters, are changing their habit from tea to coffee so it’s a big chance for Vietnam. Trung Nguyen coffee is made of the best material with the best technology. Notably, we are implementing our strategy on Trung Nguyen cafes to diversify products. In China, there are currently 20 such cafes jointly opened by Trung Nguyen Coffee and Chinese counterparts."
