This is the first visit to Vietnam in 11 years by a Chinese premier and the first visit to Vietnam by Li as the Premier of China.

The visit demonstrates the importance that the Chinese Party and State, and Premier Li personally, attach to the Vietnam-China relationship.

It is a continuation of the tradition of high-level exchanges between the two Parties and two countries, and has an important meaning in further strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and promoting the building of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
