(VOVworld) - The Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education held a national conference to review its activities last year and tasks for next year. Reports at the conference said that in 2012, despite the world’s complications and economic recession, the socio-political situation in Vietnam remained stable while national defense and the political system was strengthened. The communication and education sector has helped the Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the Standing Committees and Party Committees at different levels increasing the Party’s leadership in ideological and theoretical work as well as in communication and publication activities. In his address, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong praised the sector for its achievements in Party building and implementing political tasks. He urged for further strengthening its political role to contribute to implementing the country’s socio economic development tasks, consolidating trust among people and enhancing solidarity and consensus in society. Party leader Trong said: “The communication and education sector needs to closely follow political tasks and ideology of people and party members. It’s necessary to improve the quality of operation, diversify and renew the forms of communication and education activities. The sector should pay special attention to the political and theoretical education, increase dialogues and consul experts and scientists. It’s important to backlash distorted information and fabrication on the internet”.

In his closing speech, Dinh The Huynh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education said in 2013, the sector will continue to join the political system in dealing with challenges and difficulties facing the country. Huynh said the sector will strengthen its activities to contribute to the country’s efforts in controlling inflation, stabilizing the macro economy, ensuring social security and realizing the Party resolutions on Party building and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example while enhancing communication and education about sea, island and national sovereignty and diplomatic activities.
