Composer Nguyen Tai Tue passes away aged 86

(VOVWORLD) - Composer Nguyen Tai Tue, who wrote the song in praise of President Ho Chi Minh "Singing in Pac Bo forest", passed away at the Viet Xo Friendship Hospital in Hanoi at the age of 86, his family said on Friday.

Nguyen Tai Tue was born on May 15, 1936 in the central province of Nghe An. After finishing high school, he moved to Hanoi to pursue his music career.

He studied guitar from People's Artist Trong Bang, starting his passion for art. He then joined the Central People's Dance Troupe and performed in a choir with Vietnam’s famous artists Quoc Huong, Mai Khanh, Chu Minh, and Thuong Huyen.

He wrote his first song Lyrics to Noong in 1958, at the age of 22. The musician melt the audience' hearts with his many songs like Singing in Pac Bo Forest, Offshore Voyage, Spring on the Nhang Village, Returning to the Mine, and Buzzing Wharf.

He composed symphonies, including Highland Birds and Memory of the Motherland for cello and piano.
