Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the organization of a Consultative Group meeting for Vietnam in early December in Hanoi.

In June, the 2012 mid-term meeting took place in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, under the theme “dialogue between central provinces”. The participants discussed the situation, the future development and cooperation trend in socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and dealing with natural disasters. The meeting is a forum for the Vietnamese government and a group of donors to exchange ideas about economic policies, poverty reduction strategies, and effective use of ODA.
