Cooperation between Vietnam and IMF praised

(VOVworld) – Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Economic Affairs, praised cooperation between Vietnam and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at a working session Thursday in Hanoi with a visiting delegation of IMF specialists.

Binh briefed them on Vietnam’s guidelines on economic growth model renovation, improving the quality of growth, labor productivity, economic competitiveness, implementing the international economic integration roadmap, and maintaining socio-political stability as Vietnam implements new-generation free trade agreements.

Alex Moumouras, head of the IMF delegation, hailed Vietnam’s reforms of fiscal policies and continued restructuring of banking and enterprise systems, and said the IMF will increase its support for Vietnam.
