(VOVworld) - At least 38 people were killed and 250 injured by a wave of attacks in Iraq on Thursday. It was Iraq's deadliest day since the middle of last month, when 53 people lost their lives in a suicide bombing outside the southern port of Basra. The Iraqi Interior Ministry said that 22 of the people were killed by attacks in Baghdad. Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi said the attacks were aimed at derailing the Arab League summit in Baghdad next month and a planned national conference aimed at political reconciliation.
