Coordination Council for northern midlands and mountain regions’ development debuts

(VOVWORLD) - A coordination council for the development of the northern midlands and mountain regions until 2025 was established pursuant to a decision signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday.

Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, the council is an interdisciplinary coordination organization tasked with advising and proposing to the Prime Minister mechanisms, policies, strategies, schemes, and projects of regional scale and linkages to promote green, sustainable, and comprehensive development in the regions.

The council will help the Prime Minister direct, coordinate, inspect, and monitor ministries, sectors, and localities in implementation work.

In addition, the council will be in charge of organizing investment promotion, trade, tourism, and communication activities in the region, and promoting the use of information systems and regional planning and related database systems to serve green, sustainable and comprehensive development in the regions.

The council will support the formation and development of business associations, industry associations, cooperative alliances, and unions for the entire northern midland and mountain regions.
