Countries closely follow political situation in South Korea
(VOVWORLD) - Countries have expressed concerns over and urged for peaceful solutions to South Korea’s political unrest after President Yoon Suk Yeol declared then revoked martial law.

In a speech to parliament on Thursday, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba warned that “Japan’s security situation could change fundamentally” due to the unrest in Seoul, adding Japan is closely following the situation with grave concern.
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stressed that South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's emergency declaration of martial law, although short-lived, was a "deep concern" for the US.
He also said Washington was not informed of the event in advance and affirmed that US officials would discuss it with their South Korean counterparts.
China urged its citizens to exercise caution. North Korea has not had any reaction to the situation in South Korea.
