Orphaned or disadvantaged children whose mother or father die of COVID-19 in that period will get 88 USD each.

In related news, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has asked agencies to guide localities in delivering rice support to students during the 2021-2022 school year.
The Labor Ministry estimates that 12,000 children had contracted COVID-19 and 27,000 others had been in close contact with a COVID-19 patient as of August 31.
The pandemic has seriously affected children, both physically and mentally, the Ministry said. Many of them have had to study online for a long time, have received less nourishment, or have been left without parental care after their parents were quarantined, hospitalized, or deceased due to COVID-19.
