COVID-19 hotbeds in Hai Duong brought under control

(VOVWORLD) - The two major COVID-19 hotspots of Chi Linh and Cam Giang in the northern province of Hai Duong have been kept under control, according to a meeting of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Tuesday.

Hai Duong authorities said that infections in the province have declined after one week of social distancing and mass testing. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, who heads the Steering Committee, said Vietnam will persist with ongoing prevention measures, particularly early detection and contact tracing.

Since January 27, when community transmissions returned to Vietnam after almost two months, the country has recorded 809 cases, with 625 cases located in Hai Duong .
