COVID-19: Vietnam reports 59 new domestic infections, 1 imported case on Friday afternoon

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam reported 59 new COVID-19 domestic infections and one imported case in the last six hours to 6 pm on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health.

All new domestic cases were detected in quarantine and lockdown areas. Of them 33 cases were detected in Bac Ninh province, 12 cases were in Hanoi, 6 in Bac Giang, 3 in Da Nang, 1 each in Thai Binh and Dien Bien.

The remaining cases were documented at the Hanoi-based K Cancer Hospital No2 and at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2 also located in Hanoi. 

1 imported case was quarantined upon arrival in south-central Khanh Hoa province.
Vietnam has documented 2,357 locally transmitted infections and 1,459 imported cases so far. 787 new cases were recorded since the latest outbreak hit the nation on April 27.
According to the Ministry of Health’s Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Department, the country has seen 2,657 recoveries.
