COVID-19: Vietnam's Wednesday tally nears 3,000

(VOVWORLD) - From 12 noon to 6 pm on Wednesday, Vietnam confirmed an additional 829 cases of COVID-19, raising the day’s tally to 2,934.

Of the 829 new cases, 6 imported cases have been quarantined in Thanh Hoa (3), Quang Nam (2) and Hanoi (1); 823 cases were detected in 20 provinces and cities. Ho Chi Minh City continued to record the highest number of new cases with 592 cases.

In the past 24 hours, Vietnam recorded a total of 2,934 new cases, including 10 imported cases.  Of the 2,924 locally-infected cases, 2,229 cases were detected in Ho Chi Minh City. 71 patients were announced to be cured and 3 deaths reported on Wednesday.

To date, Vietnam’s COVID-19 infection tally has reached 37,434, of which 9,624 have recovered.
