Defense Minister meets Indian President

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam places great importance on consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with India, said Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang.

Minister Giang had a meeting with Indian President Droupali Murmu in New Delhi on Monday as part of his official visit to India. He expressed his hope President Droupadi Murmu support the two defense ministries to further strengthen their friendship, understanding and mutual trust.

The Indian President said the official visit to India by Minister Phan Van Giang and his delegation will strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. He added that the bilateral defense relationship continues to maintain a positive development momentum as well as practical and effective cooperation.

During the visit, Minister Phan Van Giang laid wreaths at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument and the National War Memorial in New Delhi and visited the Defense Research and Development Agency at the Ministry of Defense of India. He also talked with the Vietnamese Embassy staff in India.
