Deputy PM: Logistics to become high-value added service

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Logistics Forum 2019 under the theme “Logistics add more value to agricultural products” opened in Da Nang city on Saturday.

Aiming to boost the logistics sector in Vietnam, participants discussed the logistics development in Vietnam in the context of rapid growth of the digital technology. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue highlighted the government’s efforts to create a sound environment for logistics development in Vietnam. Mr. Hue pointed out some obstacles in boosting the logistics sector like poor infrastructure, high logistics service costs, and limited levels of technology and human resources. He said: “The government aims to develop logistics into a high-added value sector associating logistics with the development of exports-imports, domestic trade, transport infrastructure, and IT. The Prime Minister requested for a strong, sustainable, and healthy logistics sector.”
