(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc concluded a visit to Iran on Wednesday. During his stay, he held talks with first Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and the Vice president for executive affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari and other senior Iranian leaders.

The two sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges and regular contacts between the two countries’ ministries and sectors and boost parliamentary and people-to-people relations. They pledged to support each other at international and multilateral forums. The Iranian leaders pledged to support Vietnam’s bid for UN Security Council membership for the 2020-2021 term and asked Vietnam to support Iran to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in ASEAN. The two sides also agreed to boost cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, science, technology, agriculture, energy, and tourism.
