The information was released by Anna Pak Burdin, Discovery’s General Manager in Southeast Asia, at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday. Vikram Channa, Vice President of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said the film tells the story of the Viettel Group in East Africa, with a particular view toward human values. It captures the difficulties and hardships facing Viettel’s employees and engineers in East Africa, as well as those in the daily life of local people before they access high-quality information technology, he said.  “Vietnam: Connecting East Africa” will be screened in 15 African countries and many countries in Asia until late December 2018. This is the fifth documentary on Vietnam made by Discovery, along with Jam Busters, Mr Long’s Travelling Cinema, A Thousand Year Hanoi and Digging Up The Dead.
