(VOVworld) – The European Environment Agency (EEA) warned this week that the amount of hazardous waste disposed of in Europe is increasing.

100 million tons of hazardous waste, roughly 4% of all waste, was generated in the European Union in 2012. The predominant types were mineral, solidified, chemical, and medical wastes. The EEA pointed out that current regulations on hazardous waste focus more on curbing household waste than on managing construction or mining waste.
