This is one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on civilians in Egypt in recent years.

In Friday statements, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the United Nations Security Council called for those responsible to be swiftly brought to justice.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the attack, adding that India resolutely supports the fight against all forms of terrorism and stands with Egypt.

In a message to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi Saturday, Morocco's King Mohammed VI reiterated his full solidarity with the Egyptian people, as well as Morocco's commitment to international efforts to combat all forms of terrorism. The Foreign Ministries of Sri Lanka and Brazil also released statements stressing their willingness to join the global fight against terrorism.
