This has been the first live program about Vietnam by an Egyptian TV channel so far. Ambassador Long said: “This program is very significant because Vietnam and Egypt are distant geographically so there is very little information about Vietnam in Egypt. This program will help the Egyptian public learn more about Vietnam’s history, people, and culture. I think that culture is an important bridge to connect the two countries, contributing to economic, investment, and trade cooperation, and political ties.”

The program featured a Vietnamese fashion show and performances of Vietnamese dances and songs, and displays of traditional Vietnamese dishes. It included talks with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Egypt, Egyptian entrepreneurs doing business in Vietnam, and artist Monab Mai, who introduced Vietnam’s water puppetry for the first time to the Egyptian public in May.
