The event was part of Northwest Cultural Tourism Week 2023 taking place from last Saturday to this Tuesday in Can Tho.

Representatives of Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, and Phu Tho provinces said they hope to connect with the Mekong Delta region to create a series of tours and unique eco-tourism and spiritual tourism products.

"We should connect our tourism, culture, and trade sectors. We could, for example, bring the singing and melodies of the Southern people to Lao Cai, or exchange ethnic art troupes,” said Ha Van Thang, Director of the Department of Tourism of Lao Cai province.

“In an orchard in the Mekong Delta, one might hear the sound of the panpipes of the H'mong people of Sa Pa. And in Sa Pa, we might listen to the Don ca tai tu folk music of the southerners.”
