(VOVworld)  - The General Secretary of El Salvador’s Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) has expressed his interest in enhancing friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between El Salvador and Vietnam through delegations and people-to-people exchanges. Medardo Gonzalez, who is on a working visit to Vietnam from May 6-12, was received by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong in Hanoi on Thursday.

He congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements, saying that his visit aims to intensify the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples. Madame Phong said she hopes the FMLN will obtain greater success for peace, national independence, democracy, and social progress and equality. She also pledged continued cooperation between the Vietnam National Assembly and El Salvador’s National Assembly in bilateral ties and at multilateral parliamentary forums.
