EU, Iran speed up nuclear negotiations

(VOVworld) – The foreign chiefs of the EU, the UK, Germany, France, and Iran met in Luxembourg on Monday, in a bid to accelerate negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program as the deadline for a final agreement loomed.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says a final deal could be reached before the June 30th deadline.

EU foreign chief Federica Mogherini said that the meeting was “useful” and expressed her hope that the P5+1 could reach a final deal with Iran before the June 30th deadline. Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said that, based on political will shown at the meeting, a final deal before June 30th was possible. The UK and France said that any agreement on Iran’s nuclear program needed to include comprehensive supervisory mechanisms to ensure its implementation.
