(VOVWORLD) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday launched InvestAI at the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris.

InvestAI is an initiative to mobilize 206 billion USD for investment in AI, including a new European fund of 20 billion euros for AI gigafactories. The initiative will lay a foundation for Europe to become the world's leading AI development center.
Von der Leyen said AI will play an important role in improving Europe’s health care services, fostering research and innovation, and boosting competitiveness. She said she hopes AI will be a driver of growth and bring shared benefits.
