(VOVworld)- The European Union on Thursday officially launched the Multi-Annual Indicative Program for Vietnam in the 2014-2020 period. According to Mr. Pierre Amilhat, Director for Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East/Gulf and Pacific at the EuropeAid Office in Brussels, the EU attached a great importance to its bilateral cooperation with Vietnam and was increasing the aid package by 30% against the previous 7-year period. The 400 million euros aid package aims to support Vietnam’s socio-economic development by boosting the energy sector and improving the public administration and legislation capacity. The EU will continue to assist Vietnam’s efforts in improving people’s lives. The aid package follows the formal announcement by the EU and the Vietnamese government on October 13 on the occasion of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the EU.
