(VOVWORLD) - High Representative of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on Thursday announced the instatement of military advisors in several EU missions in Asia.
She told the ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, that the EU wants to engage on security matters in Asia and with Asia even more. The EU will deploy military advisors in several of its embassies across Asia, starting with its Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta, she said, adding that she believes Asian security is also European security.
The ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting took place as part of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-52) from Tuesday to Saturday in Bangkok.
