(VOVworld) – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defense, launched a program to address consequences of post-war bombs and mines at an exchange held in Thua Thien Hue City on Friday. The exchange saw the participation of government leaders and representatives of 10 ASEAN countries and 8 ASEAN dialogue partners including Russia, China, the US, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, and Australia.

In his letter sent to the exchange, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hailed Vietnam’s achievements in tackling consequences of post-war bombs and mines. He said Vietnam spent thousands of USD every year to help remove mines and explosive remnants of war and support the victims.
