This is the first visit to a non-Europe country by Mr. Jussi Halla-aho since he took office and he is visiting only Vietnam this time, showing Vietnam's special position in Finland's foreign policy, as well as the good friendship between the two legislatures.

Speaker Jussi Halla-aho is scheduled to hold talks with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, pay a courtesy visit to permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai, and lay a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.

Finland has constantly provided non-refundable aid to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973.

Two-way trade reached nearly 380 million USD in 2023.

Finland currently ranks 58th out of 140 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 35 valid projects worth over 47 million USD.
