Forbes lists the world’s 100 most powerful women 2020

(VOVWORLD) -This year's list of 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes Magazine includes many female leaders who have received global plaudit for their effective response to COVID-19.

They include New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, and Tokyo Mayor Yuriko Koike.

Among the 17 newcomers to the Forbes annual list is Carol Tome, CEO of shipping and logistics company UPS and Clorox head Linda Rendle for “helping to provide essential services that have kept Americans connected and clean." Executive Vice President of pharmaceutical retailer CVS Health, Karen Lynch, has been responsible for managing the COVID-19 response and CVS Health's coronavirus testing networks.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel remains at the top of Forbes's most powerful women list for the 10th consecutive year. Other honorees are US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and UK Queen Elizabeth II.
