Mr. Son said that Minister Vieira’s visit is important because this year Vietnam and Brazil are celebrating 35 years of diplomatic relations. He emphasized that the bilateral relations have developed on their traditional friendship and shared values of peace, cooperation, and development.

Vietnam considers Brazil its leading partner in Latin America, and expects bilateral cooperation will be strengthened in the coming time, in line with the roadmap that the leaders of the two countries agreed on last year during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Brazil.

The Brazilian Foreign Minister affirmed that Vietnam is an important trading partner for Brazil and Brazil wants to enhance multi-lateral cooperation with Vietnam. He said he hopes that Vietnam will support Brazil during its G20 Presidency this year and the COP30 Climate Change Conference to be held in Brazil in 2025.

Also on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira attended the Hanoi Ethanol Conference, where he said that Brazil can make a contribution because it has a lot of experience in using biomass fuel and ethanol.
