Former Italian PM talks with students about cooperation in globalization

(VOVworld) – Professor Romano Prodi, Chairman of the UN-African Union Panel for Peacekeeping, met Monday with students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam to talk about "Politics and Peace - worldwide cooperation in the age of globalization”.

The presentation by Prodi, who used to be the Italian Prime Minister and President of the European Commission, was part of the series “Bridges – Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace” organized by the International Peace Foundation. Prodi said that the 21st century is witnessing profound political and economic changes as the world moves from unipolar to multipolar, so it needs a global administration system. Prodi stressed the need for mutual understanding among nations amid the current complexity, saying each nation must respect the others’ choices and collaborate for mutual interests and world peace. Prodi added that it is knowledge which must be the basis for a global administration system to deal with emerging issues from the Middle East to the Pacific region.
