G20 meeting ends without joint statement

(VOVWORLD) -The G20 finance ministers' meeting ended Thursday without a joint statement due to deep divisions over current geopolitical conflicts, according to Finance Minister Fernando Haddad of host country Brazil.

Brazil said the ministers exchanged views on current wars, conflicts, and humanitarian crises, notably the situation in Ukraine and Gaza.

However, the G20 President noted that this meeting was not the most appropriate forum to address geopolitical issues, and proposed that these issues continue to be discussed in forums and related meetings.
