Great Solidarity of Ethnic Groups Week opens

(VOVWORLD) - The Great Solidarity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Week 2024 opened at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi on Saturday.

It comes as part of celebrations of 94 years of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

The highlight of this year’s program will is the seventh Then singing and Tinh musical instrument festival of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said the annual event aims to promote national unity, the tradition of mutual support, and the cultural heritage of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

The festival attracts over 400 artisans and amateur performers.

The practice of Then singing has been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
