Greece yet needs third bailout package

(VOVworld) – Greece has not yet needed a third bailout package, according to the Greek government in an effort to calm its citizens, after German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble opened a possible request for the aid package for Greece which is still struggling with its gloomy economy. In an interview with German magazine Focus, Schaeuble reckoned the package would be less than 13.6 billion USD. However, both the radical left-wing Syriza party, which has just won in the European Parliamentary elections, and the Finance Ministry opposed Schaeuble’s proposal, saying any new austerity measures would leave the Greeks exhausted.

The Greek Finance Ministry made public that Greece’s financial needs until the first quarter of 2015 had already been filled. The figure for the 2015-2016 period will depend on the outcome of a bank survey being conducted by the European Central Bank (ECB).
