Of the total 2,329 cases, 1,430 cases were locally transmitted, including 737 new cases since January 27. 1,580 COVID-19 patients have been cured, 35 have died.

Hai Duong, the epicenter of a new coronavirus outbreak, enforced a 15-day social distancing starting Tuesday in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus to the community.

Hai Duong has ordered tighter management of concentrated quarantine facilities, lockdown areas and COVID-19 hospitals to prevent cross transmission. On Monday, the provincial Party Committee said district top leaders must take responsibility and will be disciplined if more cross infections are detected in concentrated quarantined centers.

Hai Duong province currently has 103 concentrated quarantined centers, of which 29 centers are located in Chi Linh city, 27 centers in Kinh Mon town, and 16 centers in Cam Giang district.

The epidemic has spread to all 12 districts, towns, and cities of Hai Duong.
