Hanoi conference discusses social welfare for workers, trade unions’ role
(VOVWORLD) - A conference was held in Hanoi on Wednesday on improving social welfare for workers and the role of trade unions. It was co-organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Party’s Central Theoretical Council.

Participants discussed the harmony between social welfare and socio-economic development policies, different types of social welfare, boosting productivity via better social welfare, and promoting the role of trade unions in implementing social welfare.
They agreed on the importance of trade unions in implementing and initiating better care for workers.
Bui Sy Loi, Vice Chairman for the National Assembly Committee of Social Affairs, told the conference: “We encourage all people’s involvement in ensuring social security and welfare. We need to fine-tune and enforce social welfare policies while building organizational institutions of trade unions at industrial parks and in manufacturing zones to improve worker’s living conditions.”
