It discussed ways to reduce the risk of spreading pathogens through the human-animal interactions.
One Health is an integrated approach that calls for increased multidisciplinary and inter-sectoral cooperation and communication.

The  forum focused on strengthening food safety management, monitoring and preventing antibiotic resistance; recovery, reconstruction and control of emerging and re-emerging disease risks; and control of environmental agents that are likely to affect human, animal, or plant health.

Vietnam has been a leader in applying the One Health approach since 2003, when the world faced the SARS and avian flu pandemics. Vietnam has been praised by the international community as a role model in implementing the commitments of the Global Health Security Program to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases from animals to humans.
