Hanoi launches “Month for the poor” 2023
(VOVWORLD) - The People’s Committee of Hanoi launched the 2023 "Month for the Poor and Social Welfare" at a ceremony on Tuesday.

At the launch ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh said Hanoi hopes to reduce the number of poor households 25-30% a year and and the number of near-poor households 10% a year.
He said: “The "Month for the Poor and Social Welfare" 2023 is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to make a great contribution to helping, building charity houses, and creating livelihoods for poor people to improve their lives.”
At the ceremony, the municipal People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front - Hanoi chapter called for donations to the city’s “Fund for the poor” and presented aid packages to 245 poor households in the city.
The city’s “Fund for the poor” has received more than 2 million USD from organizations, enterprises, and individuals.
