(VOVworld) – Hanoi’s Party Committee reviewed 4 years of implementing the program on “Agricultural and new rural development towards improving people’s living conditions”.

Hanoi aims to raise the annual income per capita in rural areas to 1,500 USD in 2015

During the reviewed period, Hanoi has 121 new rural communes, accounting for one third of the total communes in the City. The average income per capita in rural areas was 1.400 USD in 2014, doubling the figure in 2011. 
The number of poor households reduced from 11.25% in 2011 to 2.89%. Ngo Duy Hieu, Secretary of Phuc Tho district’s Party cell, said: “The farmers have improved their awareness, thinking, and production method. The rezoning farm land and new rural development programs have positive impacts on the farmers. They have actively approached science and technology.”

Hanoi aims to have another 55 new rural communes this year, concretize 87% of rural roads, and raise the annual income per capita in rural areas to 1,500 USD.
