The event was organized by Hanoi People’s Committee. The smart city model aims to bring a better living environment for the people, said Chairman of the city People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh.

Thanh said however, Hanoi has to face with many challenges to achieve this goal. "With a determination to become a modern and civilized capital city of a country with more than 100 million people, Hanoi has many important advantages. However, there remains many issues that the city needs to address including maintaining a balance between development and preservation, environmental protection, and ensuring people’s well-being."
