(VOVworld) – The fourth Thang Long-Hanoi ancient dance festival with performances staged by amateur artists took place in Hanoi on Thursday.

Eight performed dances are divided into two genres: one for spiritual and religious events and the other for folk festivals.

Chairman of Hanoi’s Literature and Arts Association Nguyen Viet Bang said from now until 2015, Hanoi plans to revitalise and record between 35 and 40 most unique dances to popularise them among Vietnamese and foreign public. The earlier festivals in 2007, 2008, and 2009 honoured more than 20 ancient dances.
