Ho Chi Minh city celebrates Hungary’s National Day

(VOVworld) - The Ho Chi Minh city Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Association held a meeting to celebrate the Hungarian National Day on August 20.

Hungary has given Vietnam valuable defense and development support over the past 50 years. More than 3,500 Vietnamese scientists, engineers and skilled workers have received training in Hungary. The two countries have also maintained stable economic ties in recent years, with two-way trade turnover reaching 168 million USD last year. At present, Hungary has 11 FDI projects in Vietnam, with total registered capital of 45 million USD. Hungarian investors are mainly involved in the processing and manufacturing industries. Le Minh Triet, Chairman of HCM city’s Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Association says: “Hungary values its friendship with Vietnam. Although Hungary is facing some economic difficulties, it will continue to cooperate with Vietnam, including funding the construction of the Cancer Hospital in Can Tho province.”
